Podcast Blog: S5, E10 - Jake Doberenz, Smashing Idols

ree

Many of us Christians wonder where we have gone wrong and where the church has gone wrong. As we look at our divided society, we understand that division goes against the Bible's vision for the church (for example, Ephesians 4:2-6). But we tend to look outward and blame others for division. How can we look inward and realize our own contribution to division? Even more importantly, where is the way back to unity?

Jake Doberenz sought to be a Christian in all things. He gained a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies and a Master's in Theological Studies from Oklahoma Christian University. Doberenz thought he had life and theology figured out, and he loved showing people how they were wrong.

Until he kept reading the Bible and realized he didn't know as much as he thought he knew.

Doberenz is a writer, speaker, podcaster, and podcast producer who now focuses on what he calls "The Third Way," an apolitical path whose only mission is Jesus. He advocates for us to identify and smash the idols we've built. Doberenz joins Cecil Taylor on this episode of the Practical Faith Academy podcast for a stimulating conversation on the way forward in today's polarized culture.
