Seven-Day Practical Faith Blog: Your Story is Not Over

The sticker read, "My story is not over." No matter who received it, they had a hopeful look in their eyes.

At a church marketing conference, my booth was situated next to Silence Broken Now, an organization that helps survivors of childhood sexual abuse. As their representative Mary handed out stickers to everyone, including those who hadn't experienced abuse, she assured them that everyone's story is still open-ended.

Would your soul like to spiritually wear a "My story is not over" sticker?

The truth is, your story is not over. As you continue to build a relationship with God and express it as part of your seven-day practical faith journey, you have a chance each day to add to your story. No matter what has happened to you or by you, new life is possible with God's healing and guidance.

Psalm 30:5 reads in part, "Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."

I feel confident that everyone has experienced darkness - darkness within, darkness around us. We have wept for the night. Yet the new day is here each morning, with the possibility of rejoicing.

If you feel unforgiven, repent and ask God for forgiveness. You'll receive it.

If you feel unloved, look to Jesus, who loved us so much that he laid down his life for us, not just collectively, but individually. Jesus indeed loves you.

If you have been hurt by someone else, know that the Holy Spirit is the healer of hearts and souls. Seek God's presence within you and alongside you to recover from your wounds and experience a revived joy.

Living a seven-day practical faith is much more than being an ambassador for Christ and loving on others. Those activities are preceded by connecting to Christ and feeling God's restorative love. We become more bound to our Savior for our walk through this difficult life.

Say it to yourself now: "My story is not over."

I have a resource that can help you through this process. My book, "Live Like You're Loved," is full of reassurance of God's love and forgiveness and how our lives can be renewed when we deeply believe this reassurance. You can find it at CecilTaylorMinistries.com or through many booksellers.
