Imagine a 13-year-old boy in Nigeria who has just lost his father after his mother passed six years earlier. How can he make sense out of what has happened? Why did God allow this to happen? How can he survive, much less succeed in life?
This is the story of Oluwole Babatunde, who leaned on his developing faith to get through this crisis. He eventually came to the United States and became a psychiatrist in South Carolina. Now Babatunde has written his first book, "Adapt and Advance," which he discusses on this episode of the Practical Faith Academy podcast.
In this episode, Babatunde discusses his journey through extremely difficult childhood and adolescent circumstances, how those experiences changed him, and how he’s sharing how to overcome difficulties in his new book.
Highlights of the podcast:
2:55 What does seven-day practical faith mean to Babatunde
5:39 Does Babatunde ever look back and wonder how he went from orphan in Nigeria to psychiatrist in the U.S.?
7:23 How those early experiences shaped Babatunde’s view of faith, pain, and purpose
